Vintage Gallery #15: Stunning Steampunk Costumes

My other half is a photographer, and he was asked by Visit Lincoln to photograph this year's Steampunk Festival in Lincoln, known as "The Asylum". As lovers of vintage, I though you'd appreciate the creativity of these costumes, and the homage to all things Victorian.

According to Wikipedia, Steampunk is:

...a sub-genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery,[1] especially in a setting inspired by industrialized Western civilization during the 19th century.

In the organiser's own words:

"Weekend at the Asylum is the largest purely steampunk event in Europe and attracts participants from around the world. For three glorious days each year the historic streets of Lincoln are thronged with splendidly dressed steampunks enjoying a festival which strives to combine art, literature, music, fashion, comedy and simple good fun. Where else can you find a regency masonic lodge, a Victorian university and a medieval castle as the venues for a retro-futurist extravaganza?"

What is Vintage Copywriting?

Gorgeous vintage finds, described with adoration and photographed up-close by English fashion copywriter Angela Montague. This blog fuses my day job as a fashion copywriter with my two obsessions: beautiful old things and photography.
